Traffic Homicide
Traffic Homicide Investigations was establish to meet the Wauchula Police Departments desire to provide a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances resulting in all traffic-related deaths within the city limits of Wauchula.
K-9 Unit
The Wauchula Police Department's Canine Unit is dedicated to providing a secure partnership with the community, and the patrol division. The Canine Unit proactively assists patrol through vehicle searches for narcotics, takes the lead in building searches, and the apprehension of dangerous suspects.
Drug Enforcement
The Wauchula Police Department currently has one full time Detective assigned to the Hardee County Interagency Drug Task Force. The primary goal of the task force is to make ALL of Hardee County a safer place to live. With teamwork, combating illegal narcotic distribution can be a success. This teamwork in sharing resources, intelligence, and financial support allows us to reduce the supply of illicit drugs on our streets.
Motor Unit
The Wauchula Police Department believes strongly in focusing on community policing which is important in combating crime and improving the quality of life for the citizens of Wauchula. The motorcycle unit allows officers to patrol neighborhoods in order to focus on traffic enforcement and motor vehicle complaints within the City.
